From New Jersey, California, Oklahoma, and Belfast the Adventure Lantern staff is a group of passionate gamers. Despite our small staff and limited financial resources, here at Adventure Lantern we are dedicated to bringing our readers up-to-date information about video games across all genres and platforms.

A couple of our staff members have courteously agreed to let us post small biographies about them. Read the bigraphies below to learn a little more about the people who make Adventure Lantern possible. We hope to see you as an active member of our community as well.

A resident of New Jersey, USA, Cat (real name Beth A.) is a 16-year-old High School Student. She has been playing games since she was about four years old, and has been hooked ever since to all kinds of gaming. Regularly visiting arcades or the local Best Buy, this student probably doesn’t spend as much time focusing on school as she does her gaming fetish. (Not that it gets in the way, there’s plenty of other ways to distract a mind!)

Aside from gaming, Cat likes to read a good book or two. (Usually Horror or Fantasy.) In fact, that’s why she’s here in the first place. Her love of reading soon turned to a love of writing, wether it be fictional stories of fantasy or just an essay or two.

All around a balanced thinker, talented gamer and when she puts her mind to it, is hard at work.

You can contact Cat at Cat@AdventureLantern.com.

Hans Manhave, a.k.a. Drantin, began his foray into adventure gaming in the mid-90's with the Zork trilogy (as part of the Zork Anthology). Intrigued by the idea of actually telling the computer what he wanted it to do began a passion in adventure gaming that continues to this day.

Gnome was (obviously) born under a different name in Greece, where he still resides. Paul is a 35 year old father of two (with one on the way, due in Oct 2006). Paul has been playing RPGs and video games since the early days of TRS-80's, Vic-20's (those are REALLY old computers for the uninitiated). Paul daydreams of yester-year and the day when Infocom's text-only ZORK(TM) and the very difficult Deadline (TM) ruled supreme over the realm of adventure games. Born, raised, and still firmly-stuck to the sparkling-white beaches of NW Florida USA; Paul has enjoyed a variety of jobs, careers, and insightful undertakings. Although once aspiring to be a cop, medic, firefighter, 911 dispatcher, banker, security consultant, pawnbroker, computer tech, and web designer; Paul has finally found his calling as a condo-manager and part-time REALTOR®. Don't tell anyone, but he aspires to create a massively multiplayer PBEM online reality game as well, and has been working on it for over 5 years, to no avail. Good thing his wife is so understanding and patient.

You can contact Paul at Paul@AdventureLantern.com.

Neetie is a 40 year old mother of 5. She is currently studying part time for a BSc with the Open University but nevertheless still finds plenty of time for gaming. Though born in Southport, England she now lives with partner John and daughters in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

He's a regular but not so regular contributor at Deviantart.com, making it his non-official webpage for his improving flash skills until he learns how to upload them himself using Dreamweaver,(Decoyboy.Deviantart.com).

His favorite games include Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Kingdom Hearts 1, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy and Banjo-Kazooie. He likes writing, animating, animals, Disney Movies (of the 90's) exercising, doing stupid things to girls and talking in the third person.

The owner of Adventure Lantern, Ugur currently resides in Oklahoma City, U.S.A. When he is not playing games, bugging people about deadlines, pretending to write, or otherwise causing trouble, Ugur works as an analyst/programmer. Having played video games all his life, Ugur remembers the days when games only had two colors and came in magnetic tapes. After his failed attempts to publish a gaming magazine back in high school, he is now proud to have the opportunity to operate a gaming Web site.

Sudeep Pasricha, a.k.a Threepwood, has been an avid adventure gamer for more than a decade now, ever since he played the classic 'Day of the Tentacle' and got terminally hooked. A resident of Cape Town, South Africa, Thaumaturge (real name Ian Eborn) is a 23-year-old Computer Science honours graduate. He has a passionate love of games, especially adventure games (with RPGs and action games following), which he plans to channel into designing and implementing his own games - hopefully as soon as he finds a path to it.

Aside from games, Thaumaturge has a fascination with the strange, wondrous, supernatural and arcane. He loves physics (Although he only took a first year course at university, alongside bits and pieces picked up along the way through his interest in the subject), computer science, and the sciences in general.

Thaumaturge's main taste in fiction is for fantasy and the supernatural, although he also enjoys sci-fi, especially in games, where sci-fi is fairly close to fantasy in his choice of genre.
